Lemak Kitchen and Bar Woolloongabba
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lemak Kitchen and Bar in Woolloongabba, and it was an experience worth sharing. Having been a fan of their original East Brisbane location, I was eager to see how their new venue compared.
Nestled at 31 Logan Road, Lemak's new home truly delights the senses! The interior is beautifully decorated with vibrant neon signs and charming lanterns, creating an inviting atmosphere that's just like a lively Southeast Asian night market. The lovely historic brick walls and decorative shutters enhance the cozy charm, making it an ideal place for everything from casual dinners to unforgettable special occasions.
Moving from their previous East Brisbane location has given Lemak the wonderful opportunity to expand both their space and menu! This means they can offer an even more delightful dining experience while still keeping the delicious flavors that made them a beloved local favorite.
Menu:

What we had:
Our meal was a delightful journey through Malaysian cuisine:
Ribena Lemonade Pitcher: A refreshing, nostalgic drink that balanced the spices of our meal.
Roti Canai with Curry Chicken: The roti was flaky and soft, ideal for dipping into the rich curry sauce.
Duck Spring Rolls: Crispy on the outside with a rich, savory filling, these were a perfect appetizer. A customer favorite and can run out throughout the evening
Wat Tan Hor with Jumbo Prawns: The silky egg gravy complemented the flat rice noodles beautifully, and the prawns were succulent and flavorful.
Signature Fried Chicken with Fries: The chicken was crispy and juicy, served with golden fries—a comforting and satisfying choice.
Incredible Value
A highlight of the menu is the Lemak Chicken Sandwich Combo Plus. Priced at only $15, this combo features a crispy chicken burger on a brioche bun, waffle fries, a beverage, and an additional drumstick. The value is outstanding, especially when factoring in the quality and generous portion sizes.
Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang: The beef was tender and infused with spices, pairing well with the fragrant coconut rice.
Combination Laksa: A hearty bowl filled with a mix of proteins and noodles in a spicy coconut broth. This has always been our go-to dish, and it didn't disappoint.
Nasi Goreng with Crab Meat: This dish was the star of the evening. The fried rice was perfectly seasoned, and the generous chunks of crab meat added a luxurious touch.
Char Kway Teow: A classic Malaysian stir-fried noodle dish, it was packed with wok hei and generously loaded with prawns, fish cake, and Chinese sausage
